

Phyllis Davis was born in Detroit, Michigan to the late G.P. and Olivia
Holt. She has been married to Willie Davis for 52 years and they are the
parents of three adult children, Brian, Kendall, and Monica and
grandparents to Erica, Keyshawan, Faith, Chloe and Sophia.
Phyllis and Willie reside in Dallas, Texas and serve at the Marsalis
Avenue congregation. Phyllis has been active in ministries for women
and taught the Ladies Bible class for many years, in addition to serving
as a member of the Early Childhood Learning Initiative and assisting
Willie in the College Ministry. As a member of the Women of All
Seasons Bible class, she co-authored a book, and discussion guide,
Letters While You Wait: A Little Book of Encouragement.
Phyllis graduated from Michigan Christian College, and holds the
Master of Arts degree from Pepperdine University. She continued her
education at Texas Women’s College in Denton, Texas. Phyllis worked
as a Social Caseworker for public and private agencies in Indiana,
California and Texas, and as an Adoption and Foster Home Recruiter for
the Dallas Minority Adoption Council. She has taught at Trinity Valley
College in Terrell, and for the past 47 years she has taught History and
Sociology at Southwestern Christian College in Terrell.
She enjoys reading and traveling with grandchildren.
